Launching Party: Summer Send-Off

Text by Aidx Paredes / Photography by Nikko Zamora

WHAT HAPPENED:

We had another launching party for our third issue, a form of celebration and also interaction with our readers. Like our first launching party still held at Blue Room, we had spiels from our hosts Ralz San Pedro and Adzie Madronero about what we are and what we are trying to advocate. If you've attended one of our three parties, you have already known what we do and memorized the line "That's L I E U magazine!"

After the introduction of our third issue, we've gathered two groups of people who were willing to play party games -- they had to jump around after taking tequila shots.

Aside from the free beers, we've also had two very young DJs, which you all should watch out for -- DJ PNYX and DJ Pat Jambo. They both dropped the beats and people danced as we raced through the crowd saying "Say aaah!" and pouring liquor into their mouths.

WHO WERE THERE:

Whoever said Davaoenos aren't savoring style is wrong. Look at all these people strutting the way to party with us in Blue Room! Well, aside from tequila shot Jesus, there were a few people we've recognized from Davao's art scene! Notable filmmakers, photographers, bloggers, fashion stylists, make up artists, musicians and graffiti artists were all there to support and party with Davao's new creative baby!

WHAT WE WORE:

To make fashion a part of people's lives, we made sure we dressed up appropriately. Taking it a few notches higher with a few inches of heels on our girls' feet and blazers hanging around boys' shoulders, we wear what we advise to people on our blogs.

WHAT'S NEXT:

You might think all we have are parties. Wait until our next issue, because we will give you a series of artistic and creative events. What's ahead for us will surely be as enticing as what was before us, so stay put.
