11th Mindanao Film Festival Winners



Filmmakers and their families and friends celebrated this year’s harvest of regional films at the 11th Mindanao Film Festival Awards Night held at the Cinematheque Davao last December 14, 2015.

List of winners at the 11th Mindanao Film Festival

• Best Shout-out: Merry Joy Show, Semi-colon Productions
• Best Actress: Mae Bornillo (Dangatan)
• Best Actor: (tie) Jeff Sabayle and Ferdinand Mesias (Abi)
• Best Sound: Maki Serapio (Kaon Durian)
• Best Musical Score: Aidx Paredes (The Merry Joy Show)
• Best Production Design: Buggy Ampalayo (Pakot)
• Best Editing: Bagane Fiola (Kaon Durian)
• Best Cinematography: Arnel Barbarona (Singgit sa Hilom na Tubig)
• Best Screenplay: Keisha Halili (Pagsalig)
• Best Student Film: Puloy
• Best Documentary: The Little Me
• Best Production Value (for Guerrilla Filmmaking Workshop Films): Pagsalig
• Best Guerrilla Filmmaking Workshop Film: Pagsalig
• Best Guerrilla Film-a-thon Film: The Merry Joy Show
• NCCA Sulyap Kultura Award: Pagsalig

From December 9 to 15, Mindanao filmmakers have showcased their works at the Cinema 6 of Gaisano Mall of Davap. The number of films (37) is smaller this year because a stricter screening process was put into effect.


18 Eagle trophies were given to outstanding filmmakers.

Former Mutya ng Davao, Joan Mae Soco hosted the awards night.



Dax Canedo, chairman of the Mindanao Film and Television Development Foundation, giving the special award  — NCCA Sulyap Kultura Award.
