LI7ORGY: Lost Loves or Some Other

While many choose to bury lost loves in secrecy, others choose to speak about them—in front of a live audience. Still, others prefer to spill their soul on matters like the forgotten screams of the dead in conflict areas (“Mujahideen” by Nassefh Macla); writers who have stopped writing (“While the World Waits to Be Written” by Darylle Rubino); or the inconvenient truths of clinical depression (“Hollow” by Nina Matalam Alvarez).

The seventh installment of Litorgy sold out within two hours. The demand for LI7ORGY: Seven Seers pushed the organizers to squeeze out a second show, which was slated the day after. The second round of tickets sold out in less than 48 hours. There's a yearning from the literature-leaning crowd here that's being appeased by organizers, the Young Davao Writers.

An electric mix of lovers of the spoken and written word huddled in a handpicked spot in Bangkal, away from the cityscape. It was deliberate to stray from art hubs downtown, says Betsy Tee, one of the organizers.

The organizers are eyeing for an eighth Litorgy to be held in the last quarter of the year.
